The Damuth Music Scholarship is presented annually, beginning in 9th grade, to student-musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists alike) with demonstrated potential for performance growth. The scholarship is a $2,000 per year merit-based award. Students receiving this scholarship have shown dedication to academics and musicianship.
Applicants need to submit the following:
- A Personal Statement of Interest by the student regarding how music has affected his or her life, as well as the student's aspirations as a Northwest Catholic student-musician (250-500 words or fewer).
- An Audition Video consisting of two contrasting pieces, no greater than four total minutes in length. Email [email protected] with your Audition Video or send a YouTube link.
- A Letter of Recommendation from the student's current middle school band, orchestra, administrator, chorus director - or private music teacher/coach. The letter is to be submitted as an attachment to this application.
Scholarship Recipient Requirements
- The student must demonstrate a high-level of musicianship throughout their Northwest Catholic years.
- The student must show progressive improvement on their instrument(s)/voice throughout each school year.
- The student must prepare and audition for the CMEA Northern Regionals festival, and will be open to continuing through All-State and Nationals if they are granted the option to audition.
- The student must maintain an (A) range average in all music classes.
- The student shall maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- The student must successfully complete at least one Northwest Catholic performance arts course each school year of enrollment.
- Recipient agrees to perform at both the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert.
